Sure, golf is a game of skill—but it also rewards participants with some of the most spectacular scenery to be found. Some locations draw golfers because of an exotic location, but none can compete with the unique feature that Coeur d’Alene Resort boasts.
The resort features the world’s only floating green. Golf Digest described it as “America’s most beautiful resort golf course,” and it’s the location of this year’s Troops To Trades Golf Tournament, taking place May 25th.
Golf for a Cause
All event proceeds from this annual tournament directly benefit a very special group of people – our military veterans, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserves. Troops To Trades, provides career placement options, training grants, and scholarships exclusively to this group of men and women to help them find careers in the plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical residential service industries.
The Troops to Trades program is powered by the Nexstar Legacy Foundation. This 501(c)(3) organization’s mission is to attract talented individuals to the PHCE industries by inspiring veterans, National Guard, and Reserve members to discover the prestige, earning power, and stability of careers in these fields. The foundation was founded in 2005.
A Lakeside Golfing Adventure
This year’s tournament will be held at the world-renowned Coeur d’Alene Resort and is hosted by Nexstar Network member Mainstream Electric, Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing. The tournament couldn’t ask for a more appropriate host. Mainstream’s ranks count no less than six veterans, starting with CEO Todd Damschen, who served for 10 years in the Air Force. He’s joined by Laura Lewis, Brandon Gould, and Joe Manucci, who also are Air Force veterans. Brett Parker is a veteran of the Marines, and Marc Stevens is an Army vet.
The team from Mainstream is excited and proud to show off their part of the country, as Nexstar member companies from the rest of the United States and Canada gather in Idaho for the May 25th tournament. Registration is currently underway.
The Resort has special rates for tournament participants, and individual golfer registration starts at $200. Various sponsorship packages are available, ranging from $250 to $5,000. In-kind donations will also be accepted if a company is interested in contributing their products for prizes.
