Explore The Trades Attends the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference

Explore The Trades attended the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta, GA from June 25-27, 2024. This conference brought together over 15,000 students, educators, industry vendors, and trades professionals from across the country. Over 6,500 career and technical education students competed in over 100 technical vocations and showcased their talent in the skilled trades.

Explore The Trades’ team members Toni Bower and Maddy Sorenson attended the event and connected with numerous conference attendees about the importance of bridging the information gap to the plumbing, HVAC, and electrical trades in K-12 environments.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects a two to six percent growth for the plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical trades over the next decade and the demand for skilled tradespeople will only continue to grow. SkillsUSA is working to build the next generation of tradespeople through partnerships with industry and technical advisors to ensure that each vocation competition is updated with the most recent standards and equipment. Students competing at SkillsUSA are leaders in their field and prepared to enter careers in the skilled trades.

Explore The Trades is looking forward to building on these connections throughout the year and continuing to build relationships at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in 2025!
