For decades, schools shifted focus toward four-year college pathways, creating stigma around the skilled trades and leaving many students unaware of these essential careers. Joe Allen: Founder, JAS Wireless
Joe Allen founded JAS Wireless in 2003. In 2005, JAS Wireless became a Nexstar Network Strategic Partner, allowing the company to scale its efforts nationwide.
But Joe’s impact goes far beyond business. He began volunteering with New York at Risk (now Unlocking Futures), a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring and empowering youth in New York City.
One of his key messages to the young people he mentored was simple: success isn’t just about suits and offices—there’s pride and purpose in building things, fixing things, and doing work that matters.
“Trades work isn’t just honorable, it’s essential,” Joe says. “The world doesn’t run without skilled tradespeople.”
That belief is what drew Joe to support Explore The Trades. He has been a proud donor since 2007.
